Alex Wendel is one half of the Artistic Producers at ISTC. Before moving to Des Moines, he lived and worked in Boise, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Minneapolis. In those cities, he’s held a myriad positions both on and off stage, everything from Scenic Carpentry to Directing. His MFA in Performance comes from the University of Idaho, with credits earned at the Moscow Art Theatre in Russia. His BA in Theatre Arts comes from Northwestern College. His acting credits with Iowa Stage include Sweat and King Lear, and he directed A Bright New Boise and The Glass Menagerie. In recent times, Alex has been stepping back into the role of Scenic Designer. It was truly his first love in theatre, and he’s thrilled to be back in that position.
