Sid Juwarker

Performing Saturday April 4th @ 2pm

Sid Juwarker brings his business and creative acumen to his reading for WR/RR. A fixture in the community for nearly three decades, Sid was born in Mumbai, and landed in Des Moines by way of Singapore, completing his degree in environmental science at Drake. Since then, he’s been a fixture of the DSM business community in roles at several area businesses, an adjunct instructor at Drake, past board president of the Des Moines Downtown Chamber of Commerce, and recently serving at the Greater Des Moines Partnership.

But Sid also has as much passion for the performing arts as he does helping the DSM community grow and thrive. He’s been a leader in the local stand up and improv comedy scenes, including as a co-owner of the former Teehee’s Comedy club and currently Local’s Bar and Stage. He’s participated in several years of the 48 Hour Film Project, leading a team that won the competition locally and awarded at the international festival in Paris. His talents have also brought him to the stage, performing in Iowa Stage Theatre Company’s production of “Disgraced” for which he was recognized as Best Actor in a Leading Role at the local Cloris Awards. He’s never been one to shy away from a new challenge, and now excited to take on WR/RR bringing his experience to something the DSM theatre community has never seen before.
